Tuesday 3-24...SAS fabric shopping

Today we visited the SAS fabric shop I heard about from Bonnie Hunter. Not as much cotton material as I hoped. My goals was to get southwestern fabric for the backing of my Downton Abby quilt. I managed to use up my $75.00 for my health insurance assessment reward. Good quality of material and after  about a hour and a half came away with the below.

A few of these for other projects.

One found one of these.

This is how Dan may have felt.
But I love the material

3-23 return to Tucson

We droped Abigail off at Phoenix airport around 1200 and then headed back to Tucson for our final 10 days in Az.

We again stopped at Sunflower community as it was on our way home. We drove to a possible home for another look and, we also drove around and found a house for sale by owner. The neighbor graciously invited us into his home to see the layout. They certainly were very nice and gave us additional pointers. They are from Holland MI. Reminded me of my grandpa....quite the talker. This house would probably be in the 160,000 just outside our range unless we were serious about selling the Waterloo home. Still a lot of things to think about. We will probably look at the homes one last time later this week prior to leaving. We do have a few more houses to look at upon our return home. This may help with some decision making.

Weather continues to be beautiful, sunny and warm. It will be hard to leave especially with the winter weather back home.

Wednesday Desert-Sonora museum...and the the rains....

We had a glimmer of hope on the home we liked. Apparently the inspection found some things that the buyer is asking for cash. seller was not happy and did not consent to this. Buyer had the night to consider and decided to proceed with purchase without the above, so home is gone. Will continue our search.

Tuesday 3-17 Poolside

Sunday 3-15-15

Friday...last day for Hannah and she actually felt better and spent some time by the pool so she got a little sun. Her cold pretty much over.

Saturday was the day if exchange...Hannha leaving at 730 am for a 930 flight from Tucsin to Denver and then on to Minneapolis. Everything was on time. Abi from Milwaukee to Denver and arriving in Tucson at 930pm. We spent most of the day cleaning, washing and poolside, we continue to look at home possibilities as we have less than 3 weeks here.

Sunday Abi was up early and we went to Reedemer Church. Turns out that it was a special organ service. Stopped at Grocery store to load up on food. Was watched the Badgers beat Michigan State in tournament and then went on to a number one seed for NCCA tournament. Here is hoping they go all the way this year, will need to do brackets later.

Poolside for a few hours and our evening walk with Abi. Now watching Ironman. Abi sure has the allergies so I am trying to get her medicated so she is not miserable. Very high pollen counts now with blooming flowers. She loves the warm weather and all the catui and all the great cars.

Thursday 3-12

Meeting with Micky today to look at 4 houses in Sunflower. Of course the one we wanted to see with a view already had a continent offer...so could not see it. None of the homes really caught our eye. But it was good seeing a few more. Continue to watch carefully the next few weeks.

Cloudy day today so did a little quilting. Hannah is feeling a little better today. Decided on a trip to Culvers for lunch.

Dan and I went to a free outdoor concert in Oro Valley. Very close to Catalina park. Met two very nice couples during the concert. We had gelato during the concert. I had grapefruit and Dan had Chocolate.

View of Catalina park.

Wednesday 3-11

I woke up Monday and Dan said that Micky had emailed and the lady accepted the offer made in Friday. Just wanted to get rid of property. So back to reviewing other properties and reviewing financial expenses. Dan spent yesterday getting prequalified and I had a better credit rating than him. Both in 800's which is excellent. We will look at 4 properties on Thursday with Micky.

We took Hannah to Tucson Mall so she could shop despite her head cold. I picked up a dress and Dan a shirt.

Next we took Hannah to El Charro in Oro Valley.

Established in 1922, El Charro Café of Tucson, Arizona is The Nation's Oldest Mexican Restaurant in continuous operation by the same family. Featuring traditional Northern Mexico-Sonoran style and innovative Tucson-style Mexican Food, El Charro Café is truly as Gourmet Magazine wrote: "A Taste Explosion".

We thought the food was not as good as El Marachi and quantity not as much. But we can say we were here.

We both continue are two walks a day.

Update on Cherith is that she saw Miranda PA and she thought she should get a 3d ultrasound, but did not think it was anything to worry about. She just called and radiologist thought it was a benign fibro, but would be in favor of a biopsy. Cherith will speak with navigator and identify a date. Either this week or Easter break.

Here are some recent pictures uploaded...

Saturday 3-6

After sleeping on putting in an offer, we decided to hold on it yesterday. We did go over to sunflower and looked at the house again. The back door was unlocked and we took another stroll around the house and took some pictures. We talked with the neighbors on the corner, they were from MN. We also went to the clubhouse and spoke to another lady from MN. Both couples live year long there, one had traveled back and forth for a few years.

It was Hannah's last day at Reedemer. Now she can relax.

Saturday we woke up early to go. On a bird watch walk at Tucson Mountain park. It was very interesting and learned a lot. Very nice day dispite the clouds. Did a little hand sewing for quilting. Again we are considering the home again, and we will put in an offer Monday at 9am. We will see what happens and if any bidding wars go on.

Took a walk, slower at the near by mall and AJ's and upscale grocery store. Later watched a netflicks with Hannah....Robin Williams, Patch.

Nothing planned tomorrow except church at Shepard of the Hills. Probably poolside for a bit.

Will add pictures when Hannah uploads them to computer.

Thursday 3-5

Yet another home to view today in Sunflower. Price is a little outside our designated limit, but wanted to view it. We both liked it a lot and went back to condo to consider the purchase. We found out that a written cash offer was extended to the seller. Talking more about it we decided we would extend our limit. We will meet with our realtor tomorrow at 9 am to write up an offer. Will use cash from various accounts. Realtor felt house is worth 151,000- we may offer 152 or 153 depending guidance from realtor.
Hannah made tacos for supper, took a short walk this evening after Badger Game and tried out the hot tub to evening. Very nice. Slightly cool this evening with very little wind.

We will see what tomorrow offers. Next week in the 80's for Hannah and her sun bathing. Will go shopping one evening and Mexican restraunt next week.

Tuesday 3-3

After morning exercise spent time looking online at potential homes. We had another appointment with Marty to see two homes in Sunflower. We have narrowed our search to this area. First home needed some updates and had dirty carpeting and much more. Second home was more promising, but also not the one where we would put in an offer. We did like the location and the home layout. It also would need minor updates as it has white carpeting. We learned about termites and also about ongoing irrigation of various plants. Also if we kept a car here we would need to license in Az and homeowners also Az. Landscaper would have to manage weeds after rainy season as these would need to be controlled via homeowners requirements. Handyman or neighbor could monitor home while gone. Most keep water on when gone due to irrigation. Gas furnaces last forever as well as air conditioning. Water and electric bills seem to be ok.

After picking up Hannah we went to In and Out burgers as we all had a taste for them. Tomorrow planning on Lent at Shepard of the Hills again and then to evening workout at the mall.

Monday 3-2

Relaxing day spent quilting my cross quilt. Hannah is at school, first day observing first grade at Redeemer school. First day of rain but held off until the afternoon.

Sunday 3-1

Hannah slept in but we went to church at Shepard if the Hills contempary service. Very nice and friendly. Rest of day enjoying the sunshine and warmth poolside. Hannah loving the weather. Brief shooing trip for groceries and home to relax.
Tomorrow Hannah has her first day at Redemmer school teaching first grade. Will spend the week doing this. She is glad she came and for two weeks.

We are considering some homes is Sunflower. Who knows if we really like some we may place an offer. We really like to area and the active community. We will see.

Saturday ..arrival of first guest...

Today a more cloudy and breezy day that we just hung around condo.
I worked on the hand quilting for a cross wall hanging for Lent.
Hannah is arriving later today. We find out that her plane was grounded for mandatory mantainance and she will be four hours late. So she is spending most of the day at the Minneapolis airport and ended up buying some Wifi to survive. She finally took off at 7pm and arrived in Phoneix just before 10 pm. We picked her up and drove back to Tucson and arrived home about midnight. Very tired girl, but loving the warm air.

Friday 2-28 Tuscon Rodeo

Perfect day for a rodeo. Learned a few things and had a great time. Most of pictures are on camera that will have to be uploaded at another time.
Here are a few from Internet.
