Day 3

Our day began early at 6:08 am as we want to get an early start, especially with the weather being icy. It looked like it rained, but when we packed up the car we found some ice to scrape. We had a breakfast..we thought was included, but was not included. So we are extra and took a few snacks for the ride. We left at 7 am. After getting on the freeway we soon noted the temperature of 32 degrees and soon came upon several car accidents. We were detoured off the freeway briefly, but found ourselves slowing down for about an hour until temperature was at least 34 degrees. The following is the day timeline...

0900- Pratt KS- 37 degrees gas 2.16

1030- Meade KS - 45 degrees gas 2.15 ( brief stop for 1/2 tank fillip and bathroom break.

1115- Libral KS last city in KS - 48 degrees gas 2.20

1122- Okahoma border-46 degrees gas 2.05

1220-Texas border-46 degrees

1303- Dalhart TX- 46 degrees gas 2.19

1349- New Mexico 50 degrees

1406- Logqn NM- 54 degrees gas 2.05

1428-Tucumcari-I-40 55 degrees gas 2.09
1609- Clines Corner - needed gas 2.59- rip off..57 degrees only put I. 10.00
1700- arrive in Albuquerque NM. 53 degrets. Snow in upper elevations.

Kansas eventually got flat. Lots of corn planted with irrigation systems. I think that we will stay in Libral KS if we come this way again over three days.
Okahoma was brief, but we thought we were seeing tires but as we got closer it actually was beef cattle so close together and they were as far as the eye could see. The smell....
Tx was the same loner than we thought.
New Mexico is when we saw more elevations and mountains.  Albuquerque was pretty, but crazy drivers.
 Our hotel was very neat, great view from 3rd floor. Nice to have snacks, dinner and breakfast.
